Friedrich August von Stägemann letter, 1824 January 5.

Manuscript letter addressed to an unnamed German preacher, containing a copy of the latter's translation of Petrarch's sonnet Era 'l giorno, with comments and suggested alterations. The translation had apparently been sent to Stägemann as a sample from a translation of a number of Petrarch sonnets. Housed in blue cloth case, together with an English translation of the letter (also in manuscript).
